Keeds Wood is a site that encompasses another woodland called The Brake. Both overlook the western end of Long Ashton village and the valley of Ashton Brook.

In 2015 an in-depth professional ecological report and management plan was prepared by Avon Wildlife Trust (AWT). The owners of Keeds Wood have kindly made this available for all to read.

The report gives lots of details about the physical and biological environment - the  habitats and notable species, along with objectives for managing these. Plus the following to engage the community;

  • Coppicing

  • Undertaking bat and breeding bird surveys

  • Removing invasive alien species

  • Engaging the local community in looking after the wood

  • Undertaking educational activities; guided walks, plant and bird ID

Keep up to date with these developments and how you can get involvedRead the blog and join the Keeds Wood Facebook Group.
